Municipal Burning Ban
Pursuant to Bylaw 2022-07, Effective May 9, 2025 the RM of Riding Mountain West has applied a Burning Ban. This includes prohibition on all open burning, restricted yard waste burning as well as fire pits and campfires.
This ban will be in effect until changed or declared over.
Persons are reminded that ALL BURNING in the municipality is subject to the terms and conditions of The Wildfire Act and the Manitoba Crop Residue Burning regulation M.R.77/93.
Any persons that contravene this bylaw is committing an offense and liable on conviction to a fine of not less than $100 for first offense, $200 for second offense, $300 for third offense and $500 for subsequent offences.
Where a person is in contravention under this bylaw, in addition to any fines the Municipality is entitled to claim costs where a fire department is called to extinguish a fire at a rate of $500 per hour or part thereof.
